“ I love Sugarfish. I have been to every location except for the Pasadena one. The fish is always extremely high quality and Sugarfish has some of the best sushi rice I've ever tasted. I visited Japan in October and I have to say the sushi quality here is pretty much on par. I typically go to the Studio City Sugarfish at least once a month, sometimes more. I usually have a good experience, but I had one visit that was subpar. On this particular occasion, I had scales... not only in my sashimi, but also on a piece of nigiri. This is unacceptable at any sushi restaurant, let alone one this caliber. When I brought it to the waiter's attention, he did not care at all. His response was "it happens sometimes." His demeanor clearly expressed zero regret and he didn't even apologize for it or seem contrite whatsoever. It was incredible. Thankfully, I contacted the general manager afterward, and I was impressed by his response. He apologized sincerely and offered a resolution, which restored some of my confidence. I wish I could remember his name so that I could give him a shout out. He was great. I do have a suggestion for improvement: hiring could be better at the Studio City location. While most staff are excellent, a few employees come across poorly. Some have an aesthetic and demeanor that might be better suited to lower caliber establishments. As an example of what to strive for, I would point to the staff at the Corona Del Mar location, where the service was outstanding. Despite this incident, I still love Sugarfish. It's consistently outstanding and I will continue to visit. The quality of the fish and the flavor of the sushi rice is hard to be beat. ”
“ I love coming here with loved ones or even alone to eat some of the best sushi in the valley! It may be busy and intimate inside so I'll pick up to go and eat it outside where the vibes are dreamy by the lights and trees. Best blue crab hand rolls too!! ”
“ I got the trust me set and it was delicious and pretty filling! We went around 6pm on a friday and it was around a 50 minute wait. The service was great and the waiters were very attentive! The location is pretty small but the food came out in a very spaced out manner. Everything was really flavorful and I would definite come here again ”
“ Super delicious for a great price! We ordered the as you wish menu and were served amazingly delicious sushi ”
“ Provender: this is a fantastic place to get your sushi roll fix on. I think sushi nowaza particularly makes rolls well. A great meal they offer here is the sushi box, which comes with both nigiri and rolls. Prices: reasonable for sushi prices. Parking: (I ordered delivery, so I'm not sure.) People: fun for all. Perks: this is a great place to order some sushi, if you're looking for delivery. The sushi box comes in a great box and you can comfortably eat sushi in your undies rather than eating out. ”
“ Loved it and can't wait to come back. Wait time was a little long but I understand why. The service is fast and professional. The food was great, and the vibe was perfect. Recommend it and can't believe it's taken me this long to give Sugarfish a try. ”
“ The ginger here is so fresh . I love it ! Toasted sesame on salmon is chefs kiss . Makes you want to go in for more and more ! Unagi is a must have ! The ambience is pleasant ! It gets busy for sure ! Wait time isn't long . 90 mins free parking ! ”
“ Improved experience here Came in on a weekday lunch. The manager sat us and accommodated room for a stroller. Fish 10/10 fresh as always Tried the toro sushi and it melted like butter in my mouth Happy to return again ”
“ There is already a short line outside the front entrance before opening time. Not to worry, as soon as they open the door, everyone gets seated. If you're ordering any "Trust Me" menu, then you'll get your food quickly too. Always and reliably delicious. This is my first time dining in at this location, though -- always ordered to-go. Staff is friendly and fast. Seasonal offerings are great too. ”
“ Omakase with Sugarfish is always great. I love that they have been advocates of implementing tips into their omakase prices. All of their servers are kind and attentive. The quality of the fish has always been amazing. The amount of food for the "Nozawa Trust Me" is the perfect amount to feel full afterwards. The location of Sugarfish in Studio City is a great location as well. There's a bathroom in the restaurant and one outside as well as part of the shopping plaza. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the 16% surcharge meant for taxes. The 16% fee drives up the bill. ”
